What You Will Do
Responsible for maintaining 1500 user Microsoft Windows Server Environment including Microsoft Exchange Server and Active Directory Domain Controllers. Also responsible for maintenance of Citrix Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment to ensure reliability and optimization for the organization. Responsibilities include systems design, implementation, solution research and troubleshooting of complex issues primarily within the context of Citrix/Windows environments. The Systems Engineer will work with management by providing technical leadership for strategic projects and initiatives on the Citrix roadmap as well as participating in more general server, storage and desktop architecture efforts. Furthermore, the Systems Engineer will collaborate with Security Engineers in support of best practices for server building, application packaging and deployment, user experience management, security, change management, user account management and documentation.
Key Areas
Key Responsibilities and Duties of the Job
Infrastructure Management
- Oversees Windows Active Directory domain, group policy objects, and replication, DHCP, DNS, WINS and LDAP.
- Manages Microsoft workstation and server solutions including virtual deployments.
- Oversees authentication protocols, MFA, OAUTH, and SSO required.
- Provides input and participates in general backup concepts and basic Disaster Recovery planning and testing.
- Responsible for mobile device management (InTune), Entra ID, and Office 365.
- Familiarity with e-mail environment including Exchange server, e-mail archive and anti-spam solution.
- Must adheres to admin credentials best practices as recommended by NIST\CIS or similar governance model.
- Manages projects from conception to completion maintaining budget and delivery schedules.
Documentation
- Adhere to current and assist management with new Infrastructure policies and procedures.
- Maintain run book and change logs.
Systems
- Improve enterprise systems availability by providing ongoing preventive maintenance, testing, tuning, automation, and troubleshooting.
- Monitor current workloads and trends for capacity planning.
- Monitor system dashboards for proactive remediation.
- Boost systems performance by leveraging best practice standards.
Customer Service
- Tier 3 troubleshooting of domain, exchange windows server and Citrix infrastructure.
- Follow-up with end users to ensure problem resolution and satisfaction.
Other
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Skills & Requirements
Education-
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems (CIS), Management Information Systems is required.
- Equivalent years of experience may substitute for education requirement.
Experience-
- Three (3) years of systems administration experience is required.
- Demonstrated expertise in Active Directory and group policy management and best practices.
- Automated deployment platforms and scripting preferred. Ideal applicant should have the ability and experience to automate routine tasks. (Terraform, PowerShell, VBScript, SCCM/MEMC etc.)
- Experience with the following technologies is preferred: Citrix XenApp, Citrix Netscaler, Citrix Storefront/Web interface, Citrix Studio, Citrix policy management.
- Experience managing Microsoft Exchange & Microsoft Windows Server 2016 or newer required.
- Basic understanding of TCP\IP, DNS, DHCP, Firewall and other basic network concepts required.
- Equivalent years of education may substitute for experience requirement.
Other Requirements –
- Certifications in Microsoft or Citrix technologies a plus.
- Position requires occasional periodic travel to locations in Nebraska and Iowa with infrequent overnight stays.
