Position: Registered Respiratory Therapist
Location: Perth Amboy, NJ
Duration: 2 Months

Job Summary: The Registered Respiratory Therapist, under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services, Technical Supervisor, and Shift Supervisors, is responsible for providing and administering all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment as outlined in the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.

Essential Generic Job Functions (Listed in order of importance):

1. Provide respiratory therapy under medical direction, including education, treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation and care of patients in the hospital with deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system.
2. Perform Intubation assistance as well as Ventilator set-up and management.
3. Gather all information necessary to properly evaluate the patient’s needs, including patient-specific disease education, testing, and consultations with other healthcare professionals, as appropriate.
4. Develop a rapport and mutual respect with the patient/caregiver and team members to foster an optimum environment in support of goal achievement.
5. Provide and document education to patients/caregivers based upon identified needs in an understandable manner.
6. Complete other duties and/or projects as assigned.
7. Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
8. Lift a minimum of 5 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 5 lbs., and stand a minimum of 1 hour a day.
