Job Description Summary: Join our accomplished team as a Lead FACTS Project Engineer, where you will facilitate and participate in all aspects of driving innovation for the Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) projects. Your expertise will be instrumental in the design, testing, and validation of products for fixed series capacitors (FSC), static VAR compensation (SVC), and synchronous condenser (SC) solutions within GE's FACTS portfolio.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Project Facilitation: Take an active role in facilitating and participating in FACTS project engineering, guiding projects through all phases, adhering to industry best practices.

2. Collaborative Partnerships: Forge productive partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including principal engineers, control engineers, civil engineers, and experts in related fields.

3. Design Excellence: Oversee the design process, ensuring unwavering commitment to rigorous testing, meticulous acceptance test plans, and comprehensive safety risk assessments.

4. Testing Expertise: Manage design and factory tests, coordinating testing at supplier facilities and our advanced FACTS lab in Saratoga Springs, NY.

5. Precision Specifications: Carefully craft product specifications, generate material purchase requests, and evaluate vendor quotations, demonstrating a keen understanding of technical intricacies.

6. Strategic Planning: Actively contribute to critical product planning sessions, shaping the success of customer projects.

7. Cost Optimization: Champion cost reduction initiatives encompassing vendor selection, innovative design enhancements, process optimization, automation, and groundbreaking product introductions.

Qualifications / Requirements: Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on engineering experience, ideally with a focus on technical solutions for the power industry.

Global Outlook: Willingness to travel up to 20%, including international travel, demonstrating your commitment to excellence.

Legal Authorization: Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Desired Characteristics: Standards Knowledge: Deep understanding of and experience applying relevant industry standards and codes.

Design Expertise: Proficiency in applying advanced design principles to product development.

Testing Proficiency: Proven track record in laboratory testing, adept in using advanced equipment while prioritizing safety.
