Litigation Associate Attorney
Ready to grow? We are looking for a Litigation Attorney to join our team! Our firm’s litigation practice group is a diverse practice area, encompassing a wide array of complex civil and commercial matters in Federal and local courts. You’ll be responsible for providing support to the firm’s litigation practice and must be able to execute tasks assigned to you with minimal supervision. Federal Bankruptcy litigation experience is a plus. If you meet these criteria, have at least 2-4 years of legal experience in civil and commercial litigation, and are seeking a full-time opportunity to practice law with strong opportunities for growth, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Work on complex civil and commercial litigation matters.
- And support all areas of the firm as needed.
- Resolve cases efficiently by communicating effectively with and working alongside other attorneys and paralegals.
- Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice.
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings.
- Organize and maintain files to ensure accuracy for other attorneys, paralegals, and staff.
- Stay updated on changing applicable laws and statutes on the local, state, and federal levels.
Qualifications:
- Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
- Admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.
- Notary Public.
- Fully Bilingual (Spanish and English).
- Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed to work with all levels of staff and our clients.
- Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client's needs.
