The Altman Clinical and Translational Research Institute (ACTRI), an organized research unit established to provide education, training, and infrastructure for clinical research in UC San Diego Health Sciences. It encompasses four hospital systems, two universities and four biomedical research organizations. The ACTRI provides clinical and translational research support across a wide collaboration of units.
The Biomedical Informatics division of ACTRI provides leading edge information systems and expert management, in support of clinical and translational research. Computational services are hosted within a HIPAA compliant secure research cloud, including integrations with health system EHR, CTMS, informatics and clinical data warehouse systems.
The ACTRI unit for Biomedical Informatics (BMI) is a leader in using, innovating and providing informatics technologies and services to enable advances in healthcare research and collaborations. Focusing on data-oriented infrastructure, computational science and biomedical informatics applications such as Epic EHR and Research Module, Velos CTMS, Biospecimen, REDCap, and AWS HIPAA cloud. ACTRI-BMI serves as a UCSD and national resource for clinical data informatics expertise, consultation and collaborations. Our cyberinfrastructure services integrates software, hardware, and professional consultancy in multi-disciplinary Health Sciences translational research.
The Data Systems Integrations Analyst applies advanced technical expertise for system integration and engineering to support the needs of the ACTRI groups, and related multiple health research and development activities. As a seasoned, experienced data systems and infrastructure professional resolves a wide range of issues that are complex in scope. Selects methods and techniques to obtain solutions. Evaluates new technologies including performing cost / benefit analyses.
Applies skills as a seasoned, experienced data / information management professional with full understanding of industry practices and campus / medical center / OP and department methodologies, policies and procedures to resolve complex and wide ranging issues where analyses of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Demonstrates competency in selecting methods and techniques to obtain solutions.
Seven years of related experience, education/training, OR an Bachelor's degree in related area plus three years of related experience/training.
Ability to prepare data models unassisted.
Familiarity with data model patterns in one or more common business or academic domains.
Familiarity with logical data design and data mapping or data conversion.
Familiarity with data quality and governance issues and requirements.
Ability to represent relevant information in abstract models.
Thorough knowledge of data management systems, practices and standards.
Thorough knowledge of relevant rules and regulations.
Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated service orientation skills.
Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization. Ability to prepare effective written technical and training documentation and the ability to create documentation using a wide variety of utilities including a wiki, word processing software, and text editors.
Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Very strong desire to work in a team programming environment as an effective team member with the ability to follow through on assignments with minimal direction, including research issues and problems to develop recommendations and implement agreed upon solutions.
Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines
