Job description

This position requires shipping and receiving experience. Having experience working with UPS packaging is a plus. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

What you will do:

As a Shipping and Receiving Clerk, candidates can expect to play a vital role in ensuring the smooth coordination of study samples in and out of the company's facilities. This involves working closely with various departments, vendors, carriers, and customers to facilitate the movement of materials efficiently. Additionally, the requirement for travel between multiple locations adds an extra dimension to the role, offering candidates exposure to different environments and challenges.

In addition:

• Receiving shipments: The clerk is responsible for receiving all incoming shipments, verifying
  their contents, and ensuring that they match the packing list and purchase order.
• Inspecting goods: The clerk inspects incoming goods for damages, defects, or other issues and
  reports any discrepancies to the appropriate parties.
• Documenting shipments: The clerk is responsible for creating and maintaining accurate records
  of all incoming and outgoing shipments. This includes tracking numbers, invoices, packing lists,
  and bills of lading.
• Organizing and storing goods: The clerk organizes incoming goods in the warehouse or storage
  area, ensuring that they are easily accessible and properly labeled.
• Picking and packing orders: The clerk picks and packs outgoing orders according to customer
  specifications and prepares them for shipment.
• Shipping orders: The clerk is responsible for arranging the shipment of outgoing goods,
  including selecting the appropriate carrier, preparing shipping documents, and ensuring timely
  delivery.
• Communicating with vendors and customers: The clerk communicates with vendors and
  customers to resolve issues, answer questions, and provide updates on shipment status.
• Ability to read and understand delivery orders, and work with minimal guidance.
• Ability to operate computers and relevant software to fulfill orders.
• Follow safe work practices and procedures.
• Local sample delivery between sites and/or clients.

Qualifications & Experience:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent with minimum of 2 years relevant
experience.
• Position requires good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Strong work ethics, self-motivation, and ability to adapt in a dynamic team environment
are keys for success.
• Must be physically able to bend, lift, stretch and spend most of the day on their feet and
active.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation is required
