As a Cyber & Technology Underwriter, you will act within established guidelines, to market, analyze, review, evaluate and monitor new and renewal accounts of all programs, exercise independent judgment in processing accounts, and manage underwriting activities. What will you do in this role?
- Prospect new business targets and opportunities and develops strategies to procure new business with the Middle Market and Large Complex Corporate (revenues $50m+ Million)
- Meet established divisional servicing objectives related to quote turnaround, policy issuance, phone management, renewal management, file maintenance, and documentation
- Analyze and underwrite individual risks. Develop appropriate limit structure, retention, pricing, and endorsements within underwriting guidelines. Refer to supervisor for approval.
- Continue to develop and update product and underwriting knowledge.
- Participate in prospecting by identifying new business targets. Make strategy recommendations to the supervisor.
- Review and evaluate primarily new business based on company underwriting guidelines, competition, and geographic focus. Develop strategy and make recommendations.
- Review coverage requests provided by the agent and determine the department's position regarding such requests within the individual authority granted. Present those requests outside the individual authority to the immediate supervisor for approval or guidance.
- Cross-sell with Professional Liability Practice and other business units.
- Perform the required number of broker marketing calls, including out-of-state travel.
- Solicit new accounts, gather market intelligence, and deliver up-to-date department information on products and services.
- Maintain up-to-date familiarity with economic and legal factors impacting the department's business lines and the insurance industry.
- You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.

What you need to have:
- An executive presence, demonstrating success in communicating, influencing, and building solid relationships that add value to the AXIS book of business and contribute to longer-term strategic initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, mathematics, finance, risk management, insurance, or a related field preferred
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish broker relationships within the assigned region
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Excellent negotiation skills and strong marketing abilities
What we prefer you to have:
- A minimum of two years' experience in underwriting and/or brokering for professional liability; cyber & technology background is preferred.
Role Factors: In this role, you will typically be required to: Be in the office 3 days per week, this is a hybrid role. Travel required to meet brokers, clients 25%.
