Job description

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Secondary (6-12) Assistant Principal to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will demonstrate exceptional leadership, management, and supervisory skills to foster an environment of academic excellence and holistic student development. Working closely with the Secondary Principal and administrative team, you will serve as a visible instructional leader, engaging with students, teachers, parents, and the community to cultivate a safe, positive, and productive learning environment aligned with our school's vision and mission.

Essential Functions:

Instruction:

Collaborate with the Secondary Principal to provide personalized instructional coaching, empowering each teacher to achieve breakthrough academic results.
Lead planning meetings to ensure consistent delivery of rigorous curriculum aligned with Colorado Academic Standards (CAS).
Support teachers in analyzing student data to tailor instruction and close learning gaps effectively.
Model innovative instructional and classroom management strategies to inspire excellence.
Oversee Specialized Services including IEPs, 504s, and ALP plans, ensuring inclusivity and support for all students.
Facilitate the Remote Learning Program and provide guidance to staff and students.
Ensure the success of the Secondary Multi-Tiered Systems of Support process.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Secondary Principal and K-12 Executive Director.
Culture:

Implement strong systems and routines to create a safe, purposeful, and inclusive school environment.
Provide real-time coaching to support teachers in establishing effective classroom routines and procedures.
Support school-wide incentive and discipline systems, student events, and community engagement initiatives.
Uphold behavioral expectations and address disciplinary issues to maximize student safety and learning time.
Lead daily community gatherings to set the tone for academic excellence and positive school culture.
Foster regular communication with families to promote student progress and engagement.
Assessments:

Oversee secondary testing and standardized assessments, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications:

Current Colorado Teaching License and Colorado Principal License (preferred or in progress).
Master's Degree in Education or related field.
English Language Acquisition (ELA) certification via Colorado Department of Education (strongly preferred).
Minimum two years of school leadership experience, preferably at the secondary level.
Minimum five years of teaching experience in a diverse middle or high school setting (strongly preferred).
Minimum one year of instructional coaching experience at the middle or high school level (strongly preferred).
Experience and knowledge of (preferred).
Experience in sheltered instruction and supporting English Learners (required).
Proficiency in Spanish and/or experience working with English Learners (preferred).
Experience with remote learning programs and prior charter school experience (preferred).
Condition of Employment:

Reports to: Secondary Principal

Supervisory Relationship:

The Secondary Assistant Principal will supervise licensed teachers and support staff as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time (218-day schedule)

Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive salary range of $85,000.00 to $115,000.00 per year (based on experience).
Participation in CO PERA retirement program, including a PERA 401k contribution option.
Full funding of individual medical benefits and a comprehensive range of insurance plans.
Approximately three weeks of summer vacation, four weeks of school holidays and vacations, and 10 days of paid time off annually.
