Sr. Oracle Database Administrator

Employment Type: Contract - Corp to Corp (C2C), W2
Job Location: Tallahassee, FL
Duration: 1 year contract to begin with and renewals are likely for qualified candidates
Roles and Responsibilities
Manage and maintain all of the Department's production and non-production databases.
Responsible for standards and design of physical data storage, including maintenance, access, and security administration.
Perform backup and recovery on the Department's Database Management Systems.
Configure database parameters, and prototype designs against logical data models.
Define data repository requirements, data dictionaries, and warehousing requirements.
Optimize database access and allocate/re-allocate database resources for optimum configuration, database performance, and cost.
Manage and maintain Unix shell scripts and Java scripts.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
A minimum of 5 years of experience working with various database management systems in database design, testing, implementation, maintenance and administration in a multiple platform environment.
Ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing) with technical and Department staff.
Experience managing Oracle databases in production and lower environments.
Experience in the standardizing and designing of physical data storage, maintenance, access and security administration (i.e. Using Oracle Enterprise Manger).
Experience in performing backups and recovery on Database Management Systems.
Experience in configuring database parameters, and prototype designs against logical data models.
Experience in defining data repository requirements, data dictionaries and warehousing requirements.
Experience in optimizing database access and allocates/re-allocates database resources for optimum configuration, database performance and cost.
Experience with writing and maintaining Unix shell scripts.
Experience with writing and maintaining Java scripts.
Experience with installing Oracle RDBMS products and upgrading Oracle instances.
