Job description
Manages, plans, analyzes, and ensures accurate and timely recording of financial data, month-end close activities and Group reporting in assigned areas of General Accounting (Intercompany, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cash Management, and Financial Reporting) for BMW Manufacturing and BMW Consolidation Services.
Ensures accounting practices are compliant with IFRS and BMW Group guidelines.
Implements and maintains internal controls over all aspects of assigned area.
Manages coordination of projects impacting Accounting processes and assisting in financial process reviews to ensure optimal efficiency while maintaining controls.
Manages all financial activities for assigned area within Inventory/Reporting.
Records financial data timely and analyzes for accurate Group reporting, meeting established deadlines.
Designs and/or improves processes related to Inventory/Reporting, ensuring the proper application of related internal, external, or intercompany processes and financial transactions.
Manages/oversees projects as agreed by management including planning, concept development, implementation and documentation, testing and training.
Represents the department in cross functional projects and coordinates the project needs with affected department members.
Supports accounting processes related to Inventory/Reporting and provides consulting assistance in establishing and maintaining proper controls.
Establishes and reports to management the KPI’s necessary to identify root causes and process gaps within the assigned area.
Defines countermeasures providing continuous improvement for KPI targets that are not met.
Prepares adequate documentation to management as requested for inquiries from internal/external auditors.
Supports long-range plan, budget, and forecast by identification of risks and opportunities within assigned area.
Develops and documents processes to maximize efficiency and internal control in compliance with IFRS and BMW Group accounting guidelines and in accordance with record retention guidelines.
Conducts periodic audits for compliance and periodic evaluation for process improvements.
Represents Inventory/Reporting in system upgrades including process testing, issue identification with satisfactory resolution to avoid interruptions to business production upon implementation.
Adheres to BMW training schedule and requirements.
Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving.
Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.

5+ years of professional Accountant experience.
3+ years project management and process development experience.
1+ years of experience in Procure to Pay processes.
As applicable, per BMW training guidelines.
CPA, CMA or other certifications specific to the assignment (preferred).
5+ years of knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
5+ years of skills in financial analysis and problem solving.
3+ years of presentation & communication skills.
3+ years of MS Office skills (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Access).
3+ years of SAP experience (preferred).
