New England Regional Area Manager - Geotechnical Engineering

Job description

We are an international engineering firm providing cost-effective foundation and site solutions to companies trying to build in unstable environments. As we grow we need an area manager for our New England Region. Your responsibilities include overall commercial, technical (engineering design and technical support), operational, and promotional performance for the region, as well as commercial/technical support for Licensees and supervision of Region Engineer sales teams. YOu will develop and implement Area business plans that encompass annual corporate initiatives for new products/applications introductions and promotion and technical sales performance goals. You will also be responsible for performing technical evaluation of technical designs and approaches, assisting in the identification, development, and support of new licensees, supervising assigned R&D efforts, and other technical and support functions.

What You Will Be Doing

- Oversee all sales and revenue-generating functions in the defined geographic region (Area).
- Develop and implement strategies with licensees and Region Engineers to achieve revenue within the Area.
- Lead and manage team of Region Engineers to achieve sales objectives in the sales territory (Area). Responsible for recruiting, hiring and developing training programs that complement and grow each specific functional sales team member.
- Responsible for reviewing and approving all RAP designs in the territory.
- Lead engineering efforts of Licensees engineers in the territory and assist Region Engineers with design and technical efforts.
- Assist with the development of annual goals and performance measurements for each Region Engineer encompassing annual operating initiatives. Review these on a monthly basis.
- Develop annual performance reviews of all direct reports (Region Engineers).
- Develop technical and sales strategies (design & pricing) for success on critical projects.
- Assist with the development of new commercial materials and technical approaches to launch and sell new technologies.
- Assist the sales team with preparing technical sales proposals & documents.
- Supervising assigned internal and external R&D efforts.
- Travel to regional locations to support licensees and region engineers with promotional activities and technical/operational support.
- Trouble-shooting difficult projects.
- Preparing technical papers and bulletins.

What You Need for this Position

- Minimum MS in Civil Engineering (Geotechnical focus).
- P.E.
- At least 8 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Excellent understanding of soil mechanics.
- Working knowledge of computer systems and software including Microsoft Office applications.

This is a completely remote role, but you must live in the New England territory to be able to manage the operations and sales team in the New England region.
