About Africana Studies & Research Center
The Africana Studies & Research Center (ASRC) is part of the College of Arts & Sciences. ASRC has an undergraduate major and minor and a Ph.D. graduate program. We organize and host events that include lectures, conferences, and retreats. The department is on North Campus on Triphammer Road. The building has four classrooms, a 100-person multiuse space, faculty offices, and the Africana Library. The ASRC also has the Institute for Comparative Modernities (ICM) and the NKA Journal of Contemporary African Art under its umbrella. There are 5 administrative positions within ASRC.
The Opportunity
As the Graduate Field & Event Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our graduate programs and organizing various events to promote the activities of the Africana Studies & Research Center. Working under the general direction of the Administrative Manager and alongside other department stakeholders, your role will encompass administrative support, event coordination, marketing, and communications responsibilities.
