Position Responsibilities: - Administers & Coordinates medical prescribed therapy as assigned.
- Prioritizes Patient therapy according to patient acuity on a daily basis.
- Accountable for administration observation charting and reporting effects of drugs oxygen respiratory treatments and other the raputic and diagnostic measures.
- Completes assignments on a timely basis while adapting to changing workloads when required.
- Maintains standard shift productivity.
- Demonstrates knowledge of indications contraindications hazards and troubleshooting of all treatments as assigned.
- Demonstrates effective and efficient care through clinical competencies at least annually.
- Demonstrates competency in drawing and/or running arterial blood gases at least annually.
- completes all forms in medical record and departmental records accurately and legibly according to hospital/departmental policy and procedure.
- Communicates pertinent information at shift report.
- Fulfills on call responsibilities according to departmental policy.
- Participates in critical care program as an educator.
- Monitors ventilation patients according to departmental standards.
- Demonstrates ability to teach and educate patient and family according to departmental policies and procedures.
- Uses supplies equipment and resources in a cost effective manner
Qualifications: - Florida license for Registered Respiratory Therapist.
- BLS Certification.
- Graduate of a two-year accredited program for Respiratory Care
- 1-2 years intensive care/ABG drawing/analysis
