Job description
Position Summary:
Rutgers, The State of New Jersey is seeking a Research Assistant (PD) for Rutgers Institute for Translational Medicine and Science ( RITMS ) within Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.
This position requires performing a broad range of experiments in cell and molecular biology, tissue cultures, and animal work, as well as, learning to process clinical samples. The methods will include DNA / RNA isolation, ELISAs, protein assays, gel electrophoresis, western blotting, and single-cell and single-molecule biophysical assays (magnetic twisting cytometry, Fourier transform traction microscopy, and DNA double helix based single-molecule tension probe). The PI will design experiments, but the applicant will be expected to troubleshoot these procedures as needed. Accurate notebooks must be kept. Data analysis and assistance in publication preparation is also required. Additional duties include assisting in experimental design and participating in general laboratory activities.
