Job description
ATARID Specialist Recruiters to the Property and Asset Management Industry have been retained by our client, commercial real estate management firm, who needs an experienced:
Property Accountant
Responsibilities:
-Accounting for a commercial real estate portfolio.
-Manage month-end closing and prepare monthly financial statements.
-Maintain monthly close schedules, including recurring journal entries, bank reconciliation, fixed assets, prepaids, straight-line rent, depreciation/amortization, and various other accruals.
-Review of A/P activity.
-Assist external resource regarding CAM reconciliations.
-Coordinate with Property Managers to ensure proper accounting of lease agreements.
-Review and maintain fixed asset activity, including additions, dispositions, and depreciation expense.
-Assist in the preparation of year-end tax filings.
-Review leases and leasing activity to ensure accurate billing.
-Prepare and maintain supporting work-papers as specified.
Qualifications:
-5+ years' experience in property accounting from within commercial real estate.
-Ability to work independently with minimal oversight supervision.
-Exhibit a high level of commitment to customer service with internal and external clients.
-Possess in-depth understanding of accounting methods (cash, accrual, and full GAAP) and financial terms and principles.
-Ability to work well in a small team, with a proactive approach.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
-Proficient in MS 365 including.
-Experience using accounting software and technical ability to learn new software easily.
Location: Seattle, WA
Compensation: $80,000-$90,000 Negotiable, Commensurate with Experience, Benefits: Healthcare; Vacation/PTO, Holidays.
