Position Summary/Description:

The Applied Physical Sciences department ( APS ) at UNC -Chapel Hill seeks a program assistant to coordinate administrative functions for the UNC campus KEEN -programs and will assist the APS leadership team in integrating KEEN resources within the newly established B.S. in applied sciences program.

The Education Program Support Specialist is a new position that will work closely with the faculty principal investigator of the KFF -funded programs to sustain initiatives previously established between APS and the Kern Family Foundation and its network of educational institutions dedicated to preparing undergraduate engineering students for success with an entrepreneurial mindset. 

The role will comprise managing, evaluating, communicating and reporting on KEEN -funded programs, and supporting administrative work to implement and assess the new APS undergraduate major in Applied Sciences.

The Kern Family Foundation ( KFF ) supports a network of educational institutions dedicated to preparing undergraduate engineering students for success with an entrepreneurial mindset – the Kern Engineering Education Network ( KEEN ). KEEN is a collaborative partnership of 40+ US colleges and universities dedicated to graduating engineers with an entrepreneurial mindset so they can create personal, economic, and societal value through a lifetime of meaningful work.

Education and Experience:

- Experience with project management. 
- Experience administering a program in a University setting.
- Experience with KEEN -funded programs.
