Job description
Job Summary:
This unit cares for a wide variety of progressive care patients including post open heart surgery patients, cardiovascular surgical patients, stroke, and sepsis patients. The Progressive Care Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Job Responsibilities:
⦁ Carries out physician orders and assesses plans to administer patient care
⦁ Utilizing computerized documentation systems and monitors vital signs
⦁ Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate
⦁ Administers medications, changes dressings, and cleans wounds
⦁ Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for patient care
⦁ Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment
⦁ Coordinates discharge planning needs with members as needed
⦁ Instructs and educates patients and families
⦁ Provides age and culturally appropriate care
⦁ Orients and mentors new staff members
Qualifications & Education Requirements:
⦁ MUST have 2 years acute care experience (PCU/Stepdown experience Preferred)
⦁ Current license as a RN
⦁ Current certification as a BLS Healthcare Provider
⦁ Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
⦁ 1+ Years of experience as a RN in an Acute Care setting required

⦁ Must have 2 years acute care experience - would like PCU/Stepdown exp
⦁ 36 bed unit
Sal Range: $25 (1 year)- $36 (max) depending on experience
⦁ No weekend diff
⦁ Night diff $4.25
SIGN ON: $10k sign on for candidates with at least TWO years acute care exp with a 24 month commitment
