Job description
Atlas Technologies is seeking a skilled and motivated Cloud Engineer to join our dynamic IT team and contribute to the development and maintenance of our Big Data Platform. As a Cloud Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and optimizing the infrastructure required to support our large-scale data processing and analytics initiatives.
Pay Range: $150,000 - $200,000
Travel - Up to 10%
You Will:
- Implement best practices for cloud security, performance, and cost optimization.
- Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to understand platform requirements.
- Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of the Big Data Platform.
- Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment, monitoring, and maintenance processes.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices for efficient resource management.
- Establish monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue identification and resolution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and platform-related issues in a timely manner.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and provide technical expertise.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure configurations and procedures.
You Have:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Possession of a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Level Security Clearance
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or relevant experience.
- Security +CE Certification, or equivalent
- Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer with a focus on Big Data Platform support.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform).
- Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and related ecosystems.
- Solid understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements in cloud environments.
Preferred:
- Cloud platform expertise (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Automation and scripting skills.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
