Job description

Applicant must be a practicing Catholic with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, a love for the Catholic Faith, a Catholic Worldview, and a passion for sharing the Faith with others; Bachelor's degree, preferably in theology, catechetics, or related field. Prior experience in parish pastoral ministry helpful. Understands, supports and articulates the Catholic Faith as taught by the Church. Must have excellent organizational, communications, and leadership skills, and ability to relate to parishioners of all ages. Job Function: Coordinate parish efforts of Evangelization and Faith Formation for all ages. Performance Responsibilities: 1. Develop and oversee parish efforts of Evangelization: Develop, coordinate and support efforts at evangelization outreach (i.e. Alpha) Develop, coordinate and support small faith formation groups Provide resources for staff, leadership, and parishioners regarding evangelization 2. Develop and oversee the OCIA/OCIC process with the OCIA Director. 3. Coordinate with Formation Department Staff and Team Members: Administrative Assistant Baptismal Preparation Team Director of Children's Ministry Director of Youth Ministry and Young Adults Marriage Preparation Team and Marriage Enrichment Team 5. Collaborate with Cathedral Priests, Deacons, and Staff: Participate in Parish Leadership Team Participate in Parish Communications Team Attendance at staff meetings Attend parish committee meetings as necessary Prepare a yearly budget proposal to submit to Parish Administrator Monitor expenditures in Faith Formation Department Collaborate with staff in other parish ministries and with other parishes as fitting Attendance at diocesan meetings that pertain to ministry Attendance at continuing education workshops and seminars when available 6. Other Expectations: Maintain confidentiality in matters of office life and parish ministry Maintain a safe and orderly work area Provide for his/her own spiritual and professional growth Assist in promoting a positive and hospitable office climate Speak positively about the parish and promote parish activities and events Other duties as assigned
