Job Purpose
To assist the dentist effectively and efficiently in providing dental care to patients and to promote Familia Dental’s culture and mission and values.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and escort patient in a professional and friendly manner from reception area to and from the treatment areas.
- Ensure treatment rooms are equipped and stocked with inventory and re-order when necessary.
- Take and record patient’s medical and dental histories and vital signs, blood pressure & pulse.
- Document/chart all dental procedures performed during each patient visit per Dentist’s instructions and legal requirements.
- Take and develop dental diagnostic x-rays.
- Pour and base diagnostic models and fabricate temporary restorations – as allowed by state law.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials and assist Dentist during dental procedures.
- Effectively provide dental education and information to patients to ensure patient awareness of dental health, and oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling).
- Notify Office Manager of equipment trouble or general safety concerns
- Attend and participate in morning huddles, chart reviews and regular office meetings..
- Understand and follow company policy and procedures
- Understand and follow state and federal laws related to a dental office
- Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications/Skill Sets
- Exceptional customer/patient service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills
- Ability to effectively present information one-on-one with patients.
- Basic computer knowledge and experience with dental management software experience. Denticon experience is preferred.
- Ability to work in fast paced, patient-focused environment.
- Detail oriented
- Organizational and time management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Meet state requirements for DA duties, continuing education, or license; Basic Life Support (BLS), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate, and radiography certificate
- Dental experience is preferred, but not required.
- Experience working within healthcare or related field strongly preferred
Availability:
Working Hours: M-F, 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM and Sat, 8:30 AM - 4 PM
Full time:
- available to work 5 days per week
- Rotating Saturdays
- shift could vary week to week
