Koff & Associates (now a Gallagher Company) is adding a Sr. Compensation Consultant/Project Manager to our team. This external, client – facing role will play an important role in Compensation Consulting Services including Classification and Job Analysis and Compensation Studies. This is a 100% remote opportunity.
How you'll make an impact Manages, organizes, plans, and directs the full life cycle of public sector client projects, supervises professional level staff, and provides oversight to staff assigned to project teams; personally performs complex professional level consultant work required to execute human resources projects in functional areas including job analysis, classification, and compensation, which requires the application of expert-level theoretical knowledge, analytical and problem-solving, research, and communication skills; provides direct consulting services to public sector clients:
- Plans, conducts, and supervises major projects and programs involving complex technical and administrative issues and the application of specialized knowledge; designs, or assists in the design of, solutions to meet client needs.
- Applies theoretical principles and methodologies and relevant knowledge, skills, and abilities in support of all projects.
- Collects, analyzes, and utilizes data, statistics, or other information to establish facts, draws valid conclusions and acts accordingly to the information.
- Utilizes effective management principles involved in strategic planning, project management, resource allocation and coordination of people and resources.
- Develops, monitors, and adheres to project budgets and timelines; tracks project status and costs; identifies potential cost overruns; communicates with internal and external clients to determine project needs.
- Plans, organizes, assigns, supervises, and reviews the work of assigned staff; evaluates employee performance, counsels employees, and effectively recommends disciplinary action; participates in selection and promotion.
- Provides day-to-day leadership and works with staff to ensure a high-performance, customer service-oriented work environment that supports achieving the strategic plan, goals, and objectives.
- Strives to fulfill client expectations surrounding project plans and communications, and provides status updates as needed to continuously move the service delivery process forward.
- Compiles, organizes, analyzes, and interprets data for projects and reports; prepares and presents final recommendations to various stakeholders, including elected bodies, appointed boards, executive leadership teams, and labor groups.
- Prepares correspondence, narrative and statistical reports, and drafts project reports of findings and presentations.
- Provides expert-level consultation to internal and external clients.
- Proactively contributes to project team meetings with strategic client and industry insights and coordination of go-to-market strategies.
- Acts as a central point of contact for assigned client projects/engagement(s).
- Ensures compliance with company policies and follows ethical standards..
About you Required:
*Bachelor's degree and 3 years related experience required.
*Must live in Pacific, Mountain or Central time zone
Preferred:
- Ten (10) years of increasingly responsible professional analytical and/or consultative experience in support of human resources functions, with a concentration in classification and/or compensation; including two (2) years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
- Organization and management practices as applied to the development, analysis, and evaluation of programs, policies, and operational needs of the assigned area of responsibility.
- Principles and practices of employee supervision, including work planning, assignment review and evaluation, discipline, and the training of staff in work procedures.
- Administrative principles, practices, and methods including goal setting, program development, implementation and evaluation, policy and procedure development, quality control, and work standards.
- Principles and techniques for working with groups and fostering effective team interaction to ensure teamwork is conducted smoothly.
- Principles, practices, and techniques of human resources consulting.
- Professional guidelines, standards, and principles applicable to the assignment.
- Research methodology and statistical methods, analyses, and concepts.
- Applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations as well as industry standards and best practices pertinent to the assigned area of responsibility.
- Agency and mandated safety rules, regulations, and protocols
- Techniques for providing a high level of customer service, by effectively dealing with the public, vendors, contractors, and staff.
