The Position Provide leadership & support in attaining a safe working environment, provide direct support for expansion projects. These projects include but are not limited to building construction, internal upfits, equipment installs & site civil activity.
Relationships Senior Project Manager Site Capacity & Upfit.
Essential Functions - Assist the Site Capacity & Upfit projects team with safety management before & during the projects as listed above
- Assist Project manager & construction manager to implement contractor management, safety inspection & process confirmation during construction & report incompliance issues & follow through to correction
- Work as EHS responsible or safety coordinator to follow up that outlined requirements are complied with & EHS activities are carried out during design & execution phase
- Increase the awareness of safety through various communication tools
- Coordinate reviews of project documents on EHS part is carried out during planning/design/construction phase of the construction project to ensure that selected solutions can be built & maintained safely
- Other accountabilities, as assigned
Physical Requirements Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Ability to do close precision work with their hands. Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting and standing) 50% of the time. May required corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials.
Qualifications - Education: BA/BS degree in a directly related field (MA/MA degree preferred) required
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of safety experience, preferably in construction safety preferred
- Full knowledge of OSHA regulations required
- Working knowledge of ISO 45001 a plus
- Experience in overall EHS management & construction safety preferred
- Working knowledge in project management & can proactively drive project progress on EHS aspects preferred
- Good skills in root cause analysis for analyzing accidents preferred
- Pharmaceutical experience a plus
- Good communication & writing skills preferred
- Organization/Planning: Ability to develop & manage action plans to achieve targets preferred
