Position Responsibilities:
- Performing physical examinations on patients
- Educating patients and/or caregivers on their condition and diagnosis
- Formulating a diagnosis and treatment plan
- Compiling patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination
- Treating minor injuries by performing suturing, splinting, fracture reductions and other procedures
- Performing injections, aspirations, arthrograms and prescribing medications
- Responsible for ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and x-rays, and making diagnoses
- Assisting physician in surgery, including suturing and coordinating pre and post-surgical care
- Participating in call and rounding duties, evening call coverage, and urgent care clinic hours as assigned
- Consulting with supervising physician as needed
- Documenting and dictating patient visit in a timely manner
- Participating in coding reviewing process and chart review program
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and complying with all HIPAA rules and regulations
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of an accredited physician assistant program with both state license is required
- Up to date and current on CME credits, licenses and board certifications, required
- Two years of previous Certified Physician Assistant experience in an Orthopedic setting is preferred
