Job description
Peraton has an immediate need for a Senior Program Manager to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals.
This is a senior leadership role within Peraton which is responsible for the successful technical, schedule, and financial performance of a major contract in support of DHS. The Senior Program Manager will lead a large and diverse technical team in accordance with direction from Company leadership, contract requirements, company policies, procedures and guidelines. Likewise, the Senior Program Manager will oversee the growth of new and follow-on business within assigned area of responsibility by identifying opportunities, developing effective solutions, establishing close relations with the customer, and leading proposal efforts. Responsible for all phases of the program budget. Performs analysis for contract reviews. Develops Quality Assurance Programs for all products and services. Assigns staff and provides technical direction as necessary to complete tasks. Monitor contract, subcontract, and funding; prepare forecasts of program financial performance. Develop and deliver required contract, departmental, project and/or financial reports.
Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Manage, lead, and mentor a diverse technical team of employees in operation of DHS Network Operations. This requires significant experience in leading employees and complex projects and programs through all phases of Network Operations management.
- Manage delivery and administration of Peraton’s task orders for services. Ownership of P&L and related metrics performance. Oversee direct reports who manage day-to-day activities provided by Peraton Exempt, Union, and SCA employees. Provide mentorship to junior staff. Identify training programs, as well as skill acquisition approaches, to position Peraton as capable, certified, experienced service provider to the DHS customer.
- Develop a trusted advisor relationship with DHS management and contracting officers by providing value-added solutions and delivery that aligns to the customer’s strategic goals. Likewise, establish and maintain a high level of intimacy throughout DHS leadership in order to provide effective and responsive support to their organization.
- Support DHS account’s strategic plan –Develop short and long-term strategic plans. Also included in the planning effort is the ongoing assessment of incumbent resources, identifying key skill/capability gaps, and documenting plans to close those gaps.
Basic Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship required; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Bachelor's degree with 12 years’ experience required.
- PMP/PMI certification required.
- Prior management experience in a network operations environment.
- Experience in project management and planning.
- Ability to balance and prioritize numerous deadlines.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills.
- Critical thinking skills and a high degree of creative thinking, operating independently within the corporate and DHS framework with a keen sense of personal responsibility and bias for results.
- Must have the ability to apply business management, financial concepts, and contracts knowledge to analyze business needs and develop recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong teams, recruit top talent, and develop colleagues of all levels.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships, influence outcomes, and to deliver effective presentations to a variety of audiences.
- Demonstrated successful performance interacting with all levels of customer and company management and actively participate on senior leadership teams.
- Experience in identifying and applying innovative ideas to business problems and shepherding them through the development stage to implementation and successful adoption.

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
