Overview

We are an independent, global, one-stop-shop focused on delivering Central Laboratory Services that are tailor-made, timely and flexible to meet the evolving study demands of traditional to increasingly complex trials. Additionally, we provide Functional Service Provider (FSP) Solutions, supporting our clients with scientific and technical expertise, acting as an extension of their team, coordinating all laboratory related needs, advising on strategies for lab data collection and providing end-to-end analytical and logistical solutions.
Summary
The Biospecimen Coordinator, Reconciliation (BCR) will serve in a cross-functional role, primarily between ISS, Data Management, and the Project Services Group (PSG). The BCR will perform duties related to sample discrepancies. This includes, but is not limited to, demographic discrepancies, query resolution updates, missing collections/visits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform regular checks of xREACH data and communicates discrepancies to internal teams and global partners to resolve.
- Perform regular checks to ensure all samples are shipped or stored per project specifications.
- Communicate with clients and investigator sites to ensure sample shipments have been completed as required.
- Identifies, investigates and resolves:
- discrepancies between LabMatrix and xREACH systems
- discrepancies between client’s expected inventory and inventories actually at LabConnect.
- discrepancies between client’s expected inventory and inventories at LabConnect partner laboratories
- standardizes global inventory reports from LabConnect and partner lab inventories, including shipment or storage status
- Issue resolution or escalation as a result of discrepancies discovered during the inventory, shipping, and/or destruction of samples or at the request of PSG or BRS
- Communicating updates needed to xREACH and Labmatrix systems to internal teams as appropriate
- Provide study metrics to internal teams including, but not limited to:
- Cancellations
- Testing delays
- Transit delays
- Query rates
- Non-conformance reporting and participation in non-conformance/CAPA investigations.
- Other duties as required by management
Education/Experience
One of the following: - Bachelor’s degree with 6 months experience in clinical trials or specimen management
- Associate’s degree with 1 year experience in clinical trials or specimen management
- High School Diploma (or GED) with 2 years experience in clinical trials or specimen management
Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Computer proficiency required
- Familiarity working with databases, and advanced Excel skills strongly preferred
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload required
- Critical thinking and ability to problem-solve
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Potential exposure to dry ice and cold. May handle biological samples.
