Job description

Position Summary:
As a hotel Sales Manager, you are responsible to develop and foster business through proactive direct sales, through prospecting and marketing as well as being vigilant with reactive sales efforts at the hotel. Identify areas of opportunity by cultivating internal and external leads, building relationships and providing exceptional service to existing accounts.


Duties and Responsibilities:
− Drive customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
− Ensure that all booking needs are met for all assigned clients either through handling directly or through the front office team.
− Ensure timely response to clients for all bookings with a maximum of 24 hours for all responses.
− Serve the customer by understanding their needs and recommending the appropriate features and services while building a relationship and loyalty to the brand.
− Proactively identifies, qualifies, and solicits new business opportunities through account, market penetration and saturation ensuring maximum profitability.
− Prospect and qualify all lead sources through cold calls, tele-prospecting and networking to generate new opportunities.
− Execute and support the operational aspects of business booked (proposals, corporate rate and group contracts, customer correspondence and thank you emails)
− Work closely with the hotel manager to ensure proposed rate negotiations meet the financial needs of the hotel.
− Develop relationships within the community to strengthen and expand the customer base for sales opportunities.
− Handle all duties according to hotel policies, procedures, internal rules and standards.
− Be knowledgeable about daily hotel operations, check daily event sheets, bulletin boards, and Pass It On logs and be up to date with all changes, new procedures and events.
− Maintain monthly activity goals and revenue quotas using the appropriate Sales platform.
− Establishes site visits of model rooms. Conducts hotel tours and site inspections for potential customers.
− Secure the best sales opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions and hotel needs.
− Use available tools to understand competitors' strengths and weaknesses and knows how to sell against them.
− Perpetuate enthusiasm and a spirit of sales throughout the hotel team, by providing training and support related to understanding processes and requirements for doing business with key clients. Minimize errors in billing and service by proactive education with the team on client-specific needs.
− Responsible for the development and execution of an action plan outlining planned sales activities on a regular basis.

Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands:
− Must be able to push and pull up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 20 lbs.
− Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, pivot and grip items while working at assigned tasks.
− Must have the manual dexterity and coordination to operate all office equipment.
− Must be able to adjust to changing priorities and simultaneously complete multiple assignments despite interruptions.
− Must be able to travel from hotel to customer site. Requires the physical ability to drive an automobile.


Skills, Educational Background, Experience and Basic Expectations:
− High School Diploma or GED required.
− Previous sales experience required.
− A team player, yet able to work independently.
− Excellent communication & presentation Skills
− Able to organize, plan ahead and manage workload.
− Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.
− Ability to work effectively in a fast
