Summary:
Those individuals serving as Customer Account Representatives will be responsible for all aspects of customer orders, including, but not limited to inquiries, and processing customer orders for product lines promptly and accurately. They will serve as direct contacts for customers, stimulating increased purchasing by serving them effectively, while creating a climate of confidence, credibility and partnership.
What can you expect as a Customer Service Representative at Scandinavian Tobacco Group?
- Provide optimum customer service as required to maintain and enhance existing business and to obtain new business. This requires that the Customer Service Representative take personal and complete responsibility for every order to ensure that the customer requirements are met from time of initial order receipt until the product is delivered invoiced and the customer is satisfied.
- Assisting the customer and/or Sales Representative with any inquiry or problem concerning their orders or accounts. Provide prompt and efficient response and resolution to each inquiry, by mail, telephone, or fax. This includes inquiries related to issues with shipping/delivery of products ordered.
- Process all orders in an efficient and expedient manner as received by mail, telephone, fax, or Sales Representative, and confirm current pricing on all orders.
- Advise customer of current promotions that will benefit them.
- Provide product information as required to respond to customer inquiries and to recommend alternate products. Refer customer to appropriate qualified personnel in response to customer inquiries and/or problems.
- Assist in the solicitation, upselling and sales of company products or services to new and existing customers.
- Check inventories to ensure customer product availability, as needed or requested by customer or Sales Representative.
- Adjust shipping schedules as requested by the customer or Sales Representative to ensure timely arrival of products ordered. Ensure that any expedited shipping is billed accordingly.
- Initiate and maintain frequent contact with customers regarding their account balances; ensuring customers as well as Sales Representatives, are aware of balances that may become outstanding.
- Research all partially paid invoices and communicate findings with customer with intent to resolve issue via customer payment or an issuance of credit.
- Research all accounts placed on Credit Hold and communicate reason to customer and Sales Representative, with intent to resolve via appropriate account payment process.
- Assist Sales Representative in obtaining and compiling customer account information as needed by the Credit Dept. to maintain existing customer accounts, as well as to process and/or activate new customer accounts.
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Your areas of knowledge and expertise (that matter the most for this role):
- High School diploma, associate degree preferred, or equivalent experience required.
- Data entry experience in a sales/order entry position. Inside selling or telemarketing. Credit experience helpful but not required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent Organizational skills.
- Basic business math skills, problem solving skills, telephone techniques and stress and time management skills.
- Knowledge of word-processing and spreadsheet applications on a personal computer.
- Ability to work with multiple tasks, projects and people.
