THIS IS A DRIVING POSITION... EMPLOYEE MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVERS LICENSE AND CLEAN DMV RECORD TO APPLY
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Works under the Program Manager and Assistant Program Manager to provide community-based instruction and personal care to persons with disabilities. This is a floater position. We have 5 different day programs, your location can vary by the day depending on where we need more assistance to meet ratio.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma or equivalent and be 18 years of age or older
2. Meet California Community Care Licensing personnel standards
3. Prefer 1 year prior experience in instructing and/or direct intervention with persons with developmental disabilities, and able to work independently with minimal supervision
4. Must obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR certification
5. Have knowledge of developmental and physical disabilities, behavior and medical problems that can accompany the primary and/or secondary disability
6. Must be in good health with the ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, have knowledge of correct lifting, positioning, and transferring techniques
7. Medical knowledge concerning seizure activity and cerebral palsy is helpful; must be able to remain calm in situations of high stress; must be able to understand and follow verbal and written instructions prescribed by superiors
8. Must have a valid driver's license, a good driving record and maintain insurance. This is non negotiable.
9. Must have reliable transportation.
