Job description

As the Controller for JM Real Estate, your mission is to expertly manage financial activities related to the General Ledger, Payroll, and Accounts Receivable. The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy of financial records, compliance with regulations, and timely closing of books by the 7th of each month. Responsibilities: • Maintain and oversee financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance. • Conduct regular financial analysis, providing insights to optimize property performance. • Collaborate with property managers to develop and manage budgets for commercial properties. • Assist in forecasting financial trends and identifying areas for cost savings. • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and rent collection. • Review biweekly payroll and fund accounts accordingly. • Prepare and present detailed financial reports to management and stakeholders. • Generate customized financial reports for property owners and investors. • Facilitate internal and external audits by providing accurate financial documentation. • Implement cost control measures to maximize profitability while maintaining high-quality standards. • Stay abreast of financial regulations and ensure adherence to accounting standards. Qualifications: Education, Training, and Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent. • Minimum 5 years experience as a senior staff accountant. • Experience in Commercial Property Management is required. • MRI Commercial Property Management software experience is preferred. • QuickBooks experience is required. • Knowledge of finance, accounting, and cost control principles, including GAAP.
