Job description
Mobile Health Team Inc., a staffing agency has openings for an RN - OR Technologist. We are looking for someone with a passion for people.
Location: Carbondale, IL 62901
Assignment Start Date: 3/18/2024
13 weeks | Days | 10-hour shift | 40 hours per week
The Estimated Weekly Total is based on working the listed number of hours per week and includes available stipend amounts. Please contact a recruiter for full details. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in transportation and positioning of patients
- Assists in assembling and dismantling of tables and instruments before and after procedure
- Prepares patients and rooms for the planned surgical procedures.
- Opens sterile supplies and sets up for procedures
- Completes skin preparation and draping
- Assist Surgeon with gowning and gloving
- Assist surgeon by passing instruments and suture
- Assists in maintaining the correct count of instruments, sutures, and sponges
- Applies dressings and bandages as needed
- Assists in identifying, collecting, and caring for specimens.
- Decontaminates instruments (point-of-use cleaning), supplies, and equipment according to established policies and procedures; handles and stores instruments, equipment, and supplies appropriately
- Aids in the efficient turnover of the operating room for the next cases
- Monitors and restocks supplies
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION
Experience:
- 6 months of specialized training for non-certified or on-the-job and military training
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registration:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
- Non-Certified candidates: Graduate of OR technician program, accredited through ARC/STSA or on-the-job training; military experience as technician or LPN; dental assistant; ophthalmologist technician; medical assistant. All on-the-job training or military must show evidence of training by the training facility, physician in charge, or military command officer.
- Certified candidates: Successfully pass the Certified Surgical Technologist exam through NBSTSA or NCCT
EMR System: EPIC experience preferred
Shift: 10-hour shifts, 0700-1730
