Job description
Odyssey Systems has an exciting new opportunity for an Senior Financial Specialist to support to SSC/S8 (SSIO).
This is a full-time opportunity located in Los Angeles, CA.

Duties include, but not limited to:
- Provide Task Management Support by managing the S8 Workflow including coordination across SSC which requires effective, accurate communication and detail-oriented organization
- Serve as the primary in coordinating, consolidating, analyzing, distributing and monitoring action items, suspenses, and responses
- Track tasks assigned to the Government and report daily status of open taskings to the Government.
- Track staff meeting taskers/actions from staff meetings and assigned actions and assigned taskings
- Report daily status of tasks and assignment completion to the Government
- Provide expert Congressional analysis, synthesis of Congressional Committee concerns and issues, as well as insight and knowledge of the annual congressional cycle, processes, and the various events in the Air Force/Space Force Task/Response Timeline to Congress
- Conduct research and assist the Government with preparation and review of AF responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), Questions for the Record (QFRs), strategic messaging, hearings, and testimonies for all levels of senior leadership, and all other SSC Congressional-related activities.
- Integrate and correlate current knowledge of program data with program baselines to accurately and expertly review, develop, maintain, and/or update acquisition reports prior to S8 Director approval, such as the Monthly Acquisition Report (MAR), Selected Acquisition Report (SAR), and supplemental reports as required for acquisition category (ACAT) I, II, and III programs IAW DoD 5000.02, AFI 63-101, AFPAM 63-128, and additional mandates that arise in the annual National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and other DoD/OSD/AF/SF guidance
- Assist the Government with all aspects of SSC space acquisition portfolio program and financial management. These activities include but are not limited to: POM, Program Budget Review (PBR), Budget Estimate Submission (BES), President’s Budget (PB) Budget Justification (i.e. J-Books) and Planning Choices
- Apply process and technical expertise in assisting the Government with POM planning; efficiently and effectively coordinate among the SSC programs and SSC/FM cost estimating and Air Force Cost Analysis Agency staffs, USSF, and SAF/SQ; prepare required internal and external POM documentation; brief SSC and USSF leadership; consistently complete quick-turn taskers in a timely manner. Critical to this support is the appropriate expertise and experience to assist the Government in developing SSC strategy, prioritization and recommending offsets\
- Develop, train, brief, integrate, correlate and review various phases of Planning, Programming, Budget and Execution (PPBE) as it pertains to the SSC space portfolio
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance : Must have an active DoD Top Secret clearance, eligible for SCI and be able to maintain it
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Years’ experience: 8 or more years of demonstrated experience in a related field
Additional experience:
- Knowledgeable of the mission, functions, organizational structures, operations, and roles of Congressional Committees, DoD, Air Force, Space Force, SSC, and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence space programs acquisitions, reporting, and processes
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Master's degree
Years’ of experience: 10 or more years of demonstrated experience in a related field
Additional experience:
- Experience using the Task Management Tool (or current Task Management software or tool)
- Experience using other applicable Microsoft tools (i.e. Excel, Word, MS Teams, OneNote, MS Planner).
- Effective time management and organization skills, attention to detail, professional quality, and constant communication is critical
