Job Title: Claims Adjuster
Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Claims Adjuster to join our dynamic team, specializing in guest and crew claims. The Claims Adjuster will play a critical role in evaluating and processing claims related to incidents involving both guests and crew members, ensuring fair and efficient resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and analyze insurance claims related to guest and crew incidents, including property damage, injuries, illnesses, and other related matters.
- Conduct thorough investigations into the circumstances surrounding claims, gathering information from onboard reports, witness statements, medical records, and other relevant sources.
- Assess the validity of claims and determine coverage based on policy terms and conditions.
- Collaborate with medical professionals, legal teams, and other experts to assess the extent of injuries or damages and establish appropriate compensation.
- Communicate with guests, crew members, and other stakeholders to gather additional information and provide updates on claim status.
- Negotiate settlements with claimants or their representatives, adhering to company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate and detailed claims records, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Provide support and guidance to Claims Assistants and other team members as needed.
- Stay informed about changes in maritime laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in insurance, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Claims Adjuster, with specific expertise in cruise line claims preferred.
- Strong knowledge of insurance policies, coverage terms, and claims processing procedures.
- Excellent analytical and investigative skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
- Familiarity with maritime laws and regulations is advantageous.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to make sound judgments and decisions based on thorough analysis.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in claims assessments.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Due to business needs, candidate may be required to work nights, weekends and/or holidays on a rotating on call basis which would be from home.
