Purpose:

 

The Coordinator for Freshman Processing is responsible for leading the freshman processing team in the daily processing of admission applications, high school transcripts and supporting application documentation for admission decisions. This position is also responsible for working with students and the University community. This position is critical to the daily functions of undergraduate admission processing. The Coordinator for Freshman Processing reports to the Director of Admissions Operations.

 

Position Responsibilities:

 

Operations-85%

 

• Process electronic and paper undergraduate applications.

• Evaluate high school transcripts, process college entrance exam scores and supporting documentation to determine admission eligibility.

• Process changes of term and change of program requests for prospective undergraduate students.

• Process applications for special groups including: StudyGroup, Islander Academy, and Program for System Admission, etc.

• Process the ApplyTexas application uploads daily, EDI Smart transcript (high school and college) and perform data matching procedures for ACT and SAT test loads to prevent duplicate ID creation in student records system.

• Serve as backup for the uploading of SAT, ACT, CLEP, TOEFL, AP test scores.

• Prepare and forward prospective undergraduate student applications for review by the Undergraduate Admissions Committee.

• Maintain, review, and coordinate the corrections of error reports to trouble shoot possible data entry errors.

 

Support-10%

 

• Provide assistance by answering phones and assisting with customer service.

• Provide support for other recruitment, admission and retention activities supported and or sponsored by the Office of Recruitment and Admissions and/or the Division of Enrollment Management.

 

Other-5%

 

• Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor's degree.

• Two (2) years of related experience in admissions, student recruiting, or college relations.

• Additional education may be used as a substitute for the minimum experience requirement: Masters degree

• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel) and databases.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively in a courteous and professional manner through various methods, such as person, telephone and email.

• Attention to detail. Self-motivated and self-directed.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor's degree in related field.

• Experience in Admissions

• Experience with Banner Student Information System, Laserfiche, Argos and Customer Relations Management Software

 

Compensation:

 

$19.40 Hourly (Approx. $40,352 annually)
