SENIOR ACCOUNTING LEAD
CENTRAL CINCINNATI: 1 DAY ON SITE
FINANCIAL SERVICES SECTOR
Role and Responsibilities - Research, analyze, and document relevant facts, circumstances, and the appropriate accounting treatment for special project work in the form of technical accounting memos, including collaboration with a broad cross-departmental team (50%)
- As necessary, serve as a subject matter expert regarding US GAAP and Statutory accounting implications to support the corporate development process, including mergers and acquisitions, significant transactions, and other special project work, as needed (20%)
- Provide resource support to ensure transactions are implemented and subsequently accounted for in a control environment that follows all internal policies and process requirements as well as external regulatory requirements (10%)
- Contribute to monitoring of changes to US GAAP and Statutory accounting guidance for implications to new or existing transactions and projects (10%)
- Act as a liaison to the internal and external auditors in the communication and resolution of technical accounting issues and special project work (10%)
Qualifications and Education Requirements - Minimum seven years' experience in accounting and/or auditing with extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting standards
- Bachelor's degree in accounting required
- CPA license required
- Strong technical accounting skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to research, interpret, analyze, summarize and present complex accounting pronouncements in a concise manner
- Approachable and proactive nature, ability to be flexible, ability to communicate with all levels within the organization
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
Preferred Skills - Knowledge of U.S. Statutory accounting
- Insurance accounting experience
- Public accounting experience
