Position Summary/Description:

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

The Associate Director of Development for Student Affairs is the Lead Annual Giving Officer and serves to maintain and grow existing relationships with donors as well as establish new relationships that advance programs and resources in Student Affairs. The position also helps to educate and inform prospects and donors about giving opportunities appropriate to their personal circumstances, including gifts outside of Student Affairs. The position reports directly to the Director of Development for Student Affairs and works closely with the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and University Development staff. The position is a member of the Development Team in Student Affairs including the Director and the Development Admin Assistant.

Education and Experience:

* Demonstrated knowledge in the areas of volunteer management and annual fundraising.
* Demonstrated experience with the fundraising cycle: identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of donors and prospects.
* Proficient with the applications in the Microsoft suite.
* Experience with database management systems and social networking sites.
* Previous experience with gift and annual fundraising in higher education, with a preference for experience in Student Affairs.
* Familiarity with the University's academic and administrative offices and their functions; knowledge of and ability to tap resources within the University.
