About the role:
This position supports the daily manufacturing operations in Maple Grove, MN. You will work in a fast-paced environment, applying problem-solving tools to improve manufacturing process and equipment to reduce cost of goods (COGs) and meet performance goals (i.e., safety, quality, cost, and delivery). In addition to commercial line support, this position will be responsible for implementing continuous improvement projects related to cost reduction, implementation of new systems, and driving efficiency across the factory. This will be achieved through collaboration with counterparts in other functions (i.e., Quality, Production Supervisors, Manufacturing Technicians, Downstream Customers, etc.).
Your responsibilities will include: - Monitor performance of equipment, machines, and tools to correct equipment problems or identify issues within process that contribute to non-conforming parts, low yields, or product quality issues
- Interface daily and communicate effectively to an audience consisting of product builders, peers, and management in Engineering, Production, and Quality
- With guidance from manager, plan, organize, and prioritize daily work routine to meet production requirements and project schedules
- Gather and interpret data to troubleshoot existing product/process challenges as related to design, material, or processes
- Undertake and successfully complete simple or basic product support tasks to include any of the following: verifying specifications; maintaining product/process documentation; testing processes, equipment, raw materials, and product; and validating equipment processes
- May serve as an extended team member on larger projects
- Apply problem solving and process improvement methodologies to improve complex and diverse manufacturing processes across multiple product lines, ensuring root cause of problem is identified and quickly resolved, while ensuring compliance to Boston Scientific work instructions and procedures
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering
- Experience working in Microsoft Office
- A minimum of 0-2 years of work experience in manufacturing
Preferred qualifications:
- Prior experience in regulated industry, preferably medical device manufacturing
- Experience with Minitab or other statistical software
- Manufacturing and/or Quality System experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Self-starter, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
- Ability to engage in day-to-day operations, driven by a natural curiosity to solve problems
- Ability to develop creative solutions individually and collaboratively, draw ideas from cross-functional teams; advocate for ideas with passion while listening to and considering the ideas of the team
- Is a positive agent for change, not bound by the way things are or have always been done
