The Audiology Assistant I will be responsible for: - Performing assistance during audiological evaluations.
- Instructing patients and families in the use of hearing technology equipment.
- Performing the technical component of newborn hearing screenings per Children's Hospital Boston protocol.
- Troubleshooting hearing technology devices, recommending repairs, and drafting requests for authorization of parts and repairs.
- Maintaining organization and recording of hearing technology equipment.
- Scheduling appointments and meetings.
- Maintaining organization of clinical equipment and toys, clinical and research files and records.
- Entering data into databases and extracting data as needed.
- On occasion, may perform school visits to deliver, troubleshoot, or pick up educational amplification equipment.
- Newborn hearing screenings, reporting to the Department of Public Health, and completing clerical duties related to the hearing aid program.
To qualify, you must have: - An associate's or bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders.
- Eligibility to become licensed as an Audiology Assistant in Massachusetts.
- The analytical skills and judgment to interpret data and take the appropriate action in circumstances or situations vary.
- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Empathy, and the desire and ability to interact effectively with children and parents.
- Organization skills, ability to pay attention to detail, and good phone etiquette/customer service.
- If not state licensed, you will be hired into Audiology Assistant Trainee role and provided observation hours needed before moving to an Audiology Assistant role.
