This position is ideal for a recent graduate with a background in Mechanical Engineering who is eager to jump-start their career in the field of reliability engineering. The primary responsibility of this role is to support maintenance assessment, performance studies, and action planning. You will also be involved in pre-engineering, startups, shutdowns, overhauls, and reliability engineering activities .
This role will require 50% travel in North America. Position can be based anywhere in the southeast.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from Mill Managers to Union representatives.
- Apply and teach reliability concepts such as RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) and RCFA (Root Cause Failure Analysis) to clients.
- Demonstrate knowledge of mechanical systems, including conveyors, breakers, boilers, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, etc.
- Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for maintenance planning and scheduling.
- Implement predictive maintenance techniques such as vibration analysis, motor testing, ultrasound, etc.
- Familiarity with computer systems and the ability to learn new complex applications.
- Exhibit effective oral and written communication skills to support collaborative teamwork and influence others.
- Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving teams.
- Focus on creating value, achieving results, and demonstrating strong decision-making and organizational skills.
- Pursue continuing education in reliability applications, practices, and management.
- Understand safety and environmental regulations.
- Foster skills and knowledge development within the Maintenance Department.
Experience:
- Physical capability for field inspections in pulp and paper mills.
- Emotional stability with the ability to maintain a calm and balanced temperament.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing plant environment, including noisy and non-air-conditioned areas.
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
- Availability for regular travel to manufacturing locations within the US and Canada (50%).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Knowledge of reliability engineering concepts and continuous process facilities.
- Experience or coursework related to maintenance reliability, predictive and preventive maintenance, and root cause analysis.
- Willingness to work safely and adhere to PPE requirements.
