DESCRIPTION

The UC San Diego Library, ranked among the top 25 public academic research libraries in the nation, plays an integral role in advancing and supporting the university's research, teaching, patient care, and public service missions. The world-renowned research for which UC San Diego is known starts at the Library, which provides the foundation of knowledge needed to advance cutting-edge discoveries, in a wide range of disciplines, from science and healthcare to public policy and the arts. The Library provides a vast number of information resources, including access to more than 7 million digital and print volumes, journals, and multimedia materials to meet the knowledge demands of scholars, students, and members of the public.

Reporting to the Director of Library Business and Finance, the Library Collections Fiscal Management (LCFM) supervisor manages the collection resource funds of UC San Diego Library. Supervises the daily operation of the Library Collections Fiscal Management (LCFM) Division, a unit that processes all payments for all library collections materials and interlibrary loan services. Advises Collection Coordinators on the status of the library collections funds, providing forecasts and identifying trends to assist in managing the funds. Prepares reports for the Business and Finance Director, Collection Coordinators, subject librarians, and other Library staff on issues related to fiscal management and the library collections budget statistics. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a complete understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative and practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where data analysis requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Contacts are both internal and external to the department.

QUALIFICATIONS

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $74,300 - $134,500 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $35.58 - $64.42
