Brown & Brown Insurance is seeking an Accounting Associate to join our growing team in Saginaw, MI or Detroit, MI. This role offers a hybrid schedule! The Accounting Associate performs accounting tasks within accepted accounting principles and practices to directly support the Accounting Leader.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Prepare monthly journal entries such as payroll, benefits, accruals, expense allocations, and revenues.
Investigates and resolves billing discrepancies
Assist with balance sheet preparation, monthly account reconciliations and budget prep
Promote process improvements as it relates to financials.
Track producer accruals and payments for referral/split commissions
Assist with the preparation and issuance of client refunds and direct bill advances on appropriate dates, according to Company's payment policy.
Support Accounting Leader with other duties as assigned including but not limited to Payroll and Team Resources
Other tasks as assigned
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Must be a team player
Proficient in MS Office software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting is a plus
Prior insurance agency accounting experience preferred
