General Responsibilities
The Branch Manager is accountable for the branch’s growth and profitability. He/She is responsible for developing new business opportunities for the Bank to generate revenue and deposit growth. The Branch Manager represents the Bank in the community and proactively seeks new consumer and business relationships. The incumbent will develop and coach branch staff, conduct performance counseling as well as evaluations of employee performance.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The Branch Manager’s Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Direct sales initiatives and delivers effective strategies to achieve branch goals for revenue, deposits, and overall profitability.
- Identifies and develops consumer, commercial, small business, and treasury management opportunities with the local community.
- Participates in sales calls with commercial lenders
- Creates a positive work environment and ensures optimum branch staffing. Provides direction and leadership to branch staff with emphasis on delivering excellence in customer service, achieving sales goals, and teamwork.
- Conducts branch meetings with staff to communicate topical issues, review product and operations updates, set goals, convey results, provide recognition and skill review.
- Acquires new business relationships as well as expands and retains existing customer relationships. Secures and services profitable relationships with retail customers.
- Opens new accounts and resolves banking issues.
- Proactively sell, promote and explain all products and services offered, cross-sell related products and services with emphasis on establishing multiple account relationships with clients
- Serves as a community liaison representing the Bank in local organizations such as Rotary or Chamber of Commerce
- Provides operational support to the entire staff, including check authorizations and resolution of customer issues.
- Maintain prescribed security controls to protect the bank against criminal and fraudulent activity.
- Ensures the application of, and compliance with regulation, bank policies, procedures, and operational integrity
Supervision of Personnel
Working Conditions
- Ability to lift boxes of coin and money drawers weighing up to 30 lbs. Ability to reach over counter to help customers. Ability to reach upper cabinets for supplies. Ability to access facility. Ability to operate and read computer terminal screen. This is a full time position in a retail setting which is open six days per week. Work will be performed at the assigned location. Rotating shifts will be required.
Travel
Qualifications Summary
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum Five years’ in Retail Banking Management
- 3 years commercial/small business banking
Knowledge & Skills:
- Basic math proficiency, financial acumen and knowledge of banking industry, products, and regulatory understanding
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Track record of leading and coaching team to “higher” results, including sales excellence, consistent delivery of exceptional service, and operational integrity
- Proven success in sales and sales management
- Ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships with local community & civic organizations, including participation in CRA qualified committees
- Knowledge of staff management practices, including performance management and progressive discipline
- Strong PC knowledge to include Word, Excel and applicable internal branch systems.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
