Position's Purpose and Essential Functions:
This position is responsible for assisting provider(s) with patient care and performing clinical duties as designated by provider and/or Office Manager. Responsible for preparing orders and patient appointments for chemotherapy and communicating information to patient and family. Assists with sending and following up on specialty medications and pre-authorizations. Ensures the LMC values are reflected in all aspects of the department's operations. As an MA lead, additional duties include: taking care of Athena's clinical inbox, inventory of supplies and medications, training new staff and end of month duties as required (expired medications, blind counts, etc).
Applicant's Job Requirements Include:
Education - Required: Complete Medical Assistant training from an approved program or six (6) months patient care experience.
- Preferred: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred: Bilingual in English and Spanish.
Experience - Preferred: Prior experience in medical office.
- Preferred: Strong organizational and communication skills with analytical and problem solving skills, Medical terminology.
Licenses/Certifications - Required: CPR within 30 days of hire .
- Required: Certified Medical Asst certificate
