Job description
Position Overview
An Industrial Engineer will develop and implement operation process improvement initiatives for our warehouse facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Performs analysis activities that lead to strategic alignment and project scoping to meet business objectives and deliver quantifiable results through process improvement initiatives.
- Develops and communicates a methodology which leads to continuous process improvement throughout the organization by focusing on the needs of the customer, empowering employees, and optimizing existing activities in the process.
- The Industrial Engineer will serve as a subject matter expert on labor standards.
- Support the C&S Strategic Growth Plan
- Be adept at retrieving and researching data from various sources (WMS, TMS, Labor Management, Slot Optimization, etc) and translating that data into meaningful information to support action plans.
- Study and analyze current processes, determine their effectiveness, develop ROI’s and recommend strategies for improvement.
- Facilitate the sharing of best practices throughout C&S.
- Support and advocate for continuous improvement by promoting a strong teamwork atmosphere and a community of process improvement leaders
- Demonstrated experience in distribution with an emphasis on a performance based culture
- Influence and lead operations team to achieve operational excellence
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling various tasks and changing priorities, while maintaining a high attention to detail and accuracy
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or Supply Chain Logistics
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in distribution; experience in warehouse distribution preferred.
- Strong math, analytical, problem solving and project management skills.
- Prior experience implementing or revising engineered labor standards and labor management systems a plus
- Experience with distribution center Automation solutions (AGV’s, Sortation, AS/AR, Wearable)
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead cross functional teams
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word and SQL.
- Ability to travel 50-75 percent of the time regionally
