Technical Writer Intern
South Metro | Contract | $20 - $22/hr

Konik is partnering with a growing defense engineering company in the south metro area seeking to add a Technical Writer Intern to their growing team. You will have the opportunity to support interactive electronic technical manuals (IETMs) for complex products. This is a terrific, flexible internship opportunity that can be part-time while school is ongoing and full-time during the summers and that offers the potential for a permanent position in the longer term.

Technical Writer Intern Responsibilities:

• Use essential authoring tools such as Word, Arbortext, Notepad++ to assist in the production of Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM)
• Work with technical experts to establish technical specifications and determine end-item development
• Integrate relevant information into well-written physical descriptions, controls, and indicators and removal and replacement procedures with amplifying graphics
• Select drawings, sketches, diagrams, charts, and photographs of equipment to illustrate the material

Technical Writer Intern Qualifications :

• Current students in technical writing or similar programs.
• Prior internship experience is beneficial, but not required.
• Familiarity with S1000D and either Arbortext or a similar XML editing tool is preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a secret clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
• This client falls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
