Job description

The warehouse worker will help process and receive store orders coming in from outside vendors.

For candidates based in New York State, this position’s starting salary range typically pays between $16.50-$17/hr

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assembles customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets, shelves and loads trucks for morning delivery.
• Manages work production so trucks are ready to go out on time and in good order.
• Uses forklift and reach truck to bring items to designated areas.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Marks materials with identifying information.
• Put stock location away in appropriate place.
• Performs drop-downs to keep items to be picked at eye-level.
• Keeps communication and information updated to minimize disruption.
• Completes work in a timely manner while ensuring all safety and security procedures are followed.
• Work closely with Warehouse Supervisors and Delivery Drivers.
• Occasionally uses computer system to coordinate transfers and replenishment of inventory
• Safely operate all types of power equipment (order picker, reach truck, fork lift)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities 

• Employees must regularly lift and or move 75 pounds or more.
• Good attention to detail, accurate and thorough
• Previous experience using forklift and reach truck preferred.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills with an ability to converse, read and write in English.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, speak and hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is frequently required to use hands/fingers for data entry and filing. The employee must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
