The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall performance and efficiency of the multi shift molding operation and its resources/ human capital. Responsible for the overall management, direction and coordination of plant operations to achieve production and fiscal objectives, including plant safety, customer relations, continuous improvement, strategic planning, quality assurance, problem resolution, staff development, engineering activity, and fiscal responsibility. - Ensures ISO and safety standards are adhered
- Provides supervision and direction to subordinate staff and coordinates workflow within the operation, including distributing work, disseminating information, providing technical assistance, answering questions, and resolving problems within the molding operation.
- Establishes operations standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, and complete and on-time delivery.
- In conjunction with corporate leadership and management staff, establish budgets and strategic plans to accomplish objectives for growth and profitability.
- Supervises the development and implementation of training programs within the molding department.
- Ensure further development of production staff through performance evaluation, development of training plans, feedback, coaching, corrective action, and cascade training.
- Responsible for monitoring sales orders for finished goods to insure proper machine utilization.
- Plan and organize layouts for line changes due to volume changes or manpower reductions.
- Oversee staff meetings to communicate daily objectives and discuss successes, failures, and countermeasure activity.
- Understand and execute all plant policies and procedures.
- Structure and implement area policies and procedures to ensure safe and efficient operation of the company and its team members.
- Ensure alignment of area policies and procedures with plant and corporate policies and procedures.
- Review and plan headcount monthly for labor cost control and PEFF (production efficiency).
- Oversee the monthly reporting documents that are finalized for the assigned manufacturing area(s), ensuring accuracy and completion. Report out monthly reports with targets.
- Lead management discussions and planning sessions to help formulate cost reduction, product improvement, and problem-solving activities, and present operational performance daily/weekly.
- Develop and maintain positive team member relations centered on mutual trust, dignity, respect, fairness, consistency, two-way communication, teamwork, and harmony.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for identifying quality problems in products.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows based operating system and related software. Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of the companies software packages (IQMS).
- Good housekeeping and safe working habits.

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Trade school graduate or associates degree or a combination of experience and education, Bachelor’s degree preferred,
- 10+ years’ experience in an injections molding operation
- Experience in a 24/7 manufacturing/molding operation is ideal
- Proven success in maintaining positive employee relations
- Knowledge of ISO9001 quality management systems, ISO 13485 preferred.
- OTHER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Must possess good written and verbal communication skills with our internal and external customers. Basic knowledge of equipment. Advanced ability to read prints and use measuring equipment along with advanced math skills.
- Demonstrates experience in performance development, teaching/leading, mentoring and/or organization development. Instills appropriate behavior in others in support of companies values
