Job description

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS:

JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Pathology at the Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA is seeking a Part time Research Technologist. The successful applicant needs to have experience in cell culture (cell treatment, harvesting), as well as molecular biology techniques (DNA plasmid preparation, restriction digestion and cloning; RNA preparation, and quantitative real-time PCR, Western blot analysis, ELISA's, IHC. The position will also require occasional processing of human tissue, blood, and urine samples under approved protocols. Able to be flexible and to work on weekends when necessary. Experience with Macintosh and IBM computers (Word, Excel).


PREFERRRED QUALIFICATIONS:

This position typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus 1 year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. We are interested in responsible, accountable, and conscientious applicants with a Bachelor's degree in Science and hands on experience with the techniques described above.

This position will be 24 hours a week or less and able to be flexible and to work on weekends when necessary.
