Position Summary: The Sales Coordinator is responsible to develop and foster business through pro-active direct sales, marketing, and solicitation for various or specific market segments.

Essential Job Functions
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- Coordinate all Banquet Events and Group Room Blocks
- Meet or exceed budgeted RevPAR goals
- Accurately forecast revenues for the following month
- Analyze short-term fluctuations and direct selling activities to maximize revenues
- Prepare sales and/or marketing plan for the following year
- Ensure front desk agents are familiar about all sales programs and key accounts
- Produce sales department reports in a timely manner
- Know which market segments produce effective business for the property and how to balance them to maximize revenues. Perform displacement analysis for groups or accounts as needed
- Know SWOT of property and competitive set
- Read and interpret STR results weekly and monthly
- Identify revenue opportunities and work to secure business from them
- Demonstrate commitment to superior guest service through personal response to guest needs
- Conduct site visits, coordinating with all departments for show rooms
- Interact with outside contacts:* Guests – to ensure their total satisfaction
- Vendors – to resolve any vendor performance issues, etc.
- Other contacts as needed (Professional organizations, community groups, local media)
- Any and all other duties as assigned
Education
High school education/GED
Experience
Minimum one year sales experience in hospitality or two years of progressive experience in a hotel environment
Hours required
Full Time Monday-Friday. Scheduled days and times may vary based on hotel needs.
Travel:
Minimal travel requirements
Must possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Physical:
Frequent sitting, standing, and moving about the facilities. Handling objects, products and equipment. Using keyboards and other office computer equipment. Occasionally push, pull and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds. Must communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must observe details at close range.
Other:
* Must speak English fluently. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Mathematical skills include basic math, budgeting, profit/loss concepts, percentages and variances. Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities are often used. Ability to effectively multi-task.
