Roux Summer Research Internship - GenCyber Camps About the Opportunity Summer Research Internships at The Roux Institute The Roux Institute Summer Research Internship Program is a 10-week full-time internship for graduate and undergraduate learners on-site at the Roux Institute campus of Northeastern University in Portland, ME.

Summer Internship - GenCyber Camps The GenCyber Summer Intern will work closely with Dr. Scott Valcourt and other Roux Institute faculty to deliver the GenCyber Camps in the Summer of 2024 during the weeks of July 5-9 and July 12-16. Before the start of the camp (approximately 3 weeks), the Intern will help to develop and deploy several game systems based on cybersecurity concepts and principles. These game systems will be crucial to the hands-on experience during the camp's operation. One week before the camp, the Intern will also get to participate in training in working with minors and techniques for the delivery of the camp program. During the two weeks of the camp, the Intern will support the delivery of the camp program, including leading a session or two based on interest. In the three weeks following the camp, the Intern will be expected to collect the final data from the camp delivery and prepare part of the post-camp activity slated for the fall.
Responsibilities - Develop and deploy game systems for the GenCyber Camps
- Participate in training for working with minors and camp program delivery
- Support the delivery of the camp program, including leading some sessions
- Collect final data from camp delivery
- Assist in preparing post-camp activities
- Maintain excellent communication and organizational skills
Qualifications - The ideal candidate will have some interest in cybersecurity and/or computer science education
- Junior or Senior-level Undergraduate or any graduate student are eligible
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
