The Opportunity
Reporting to the Supervisor of Customer Finance, the Risk Specialist will recognize out of trend customer behaviors, fraud schemes and evaluate orders placed with QVC to determine if they are fraudulent or not. As a Risk Specialist you would exercise judgment through policies, evaluation of data and external criteria, and the use of websites and validation tools regarding an order or account. Using QVC's Customer Finance core values you will make a determination as to whether orders should be released for shipment or canceled for fraud. This position is based outside of Philadelphia and located at Studio Park in West Chester, PA.

Your Impact
Handle moderate to complex research on anomalies in customer orders and accounts.
Review orders held for review in fraud system that coincides with your findings.
Perform designated customer account research and investigation.
Contact external parties (banks, cardholders) and utilize system tools to determine if order is legitimate.
Requires confidentiality in dealing with personal information such as credit card numbers.
Prevents losses to QVC by identifying and stopping fraudulent shipments, while fulfilling legitimate orders before shipping deadlines pass.
Answer phone calls from dedicated line into Risk area from cardholders whose information has been compromised.
Speak with customers, credit card companies, internal departments and law enforcement.
Provide comments on accounts for team members and other departments to understand.
Close customer accounts and flag addresses, phone numbers, credit card numbers, IP addresses etc. to ensure any future orders placed with the same characteristics are stopped.
Identify fraud trends and communicate them promptly to the team and management so appropriate measures can be taken to prevent further losses.
What You Bring
High School Diploma or GED
1 to 2 years' experience working in Customer Service, Risk area or Finance area
Ability to review multiple order characteristics and determine whether a transaction is legitimate.
Ability to identify trends or patterns in data.
Ability to review and documents results in excel spreadsheets.
Remote work is not permitted in NYC at this time
